Zee Next was a Hindi language general entertainment channel established by Zee Entertainment Enterprises promoted by Essel Group based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.〔http://zeenext.com/contact.html〕 The channel was launched on 11 December 2007 in India, and was available on almost all cable operators in India. With the evolution of TV viewing audiences, this channel offers a very refreshing and blooming entertainment aimed at bridging the generation gap. Catering to the needs of the entire spectrum of television audiences, the channel offers a wide assortment of programming across genres ranging from comedy-dramas to the most entertaining reality shows. The channel was shut down on 7 September 2008, nearly a year after its launch due to high costs and lack of investors. ==Programming== Zee Next ceased broadcasting on 7 September 2008; therefore, cancelled/scratched quite a few scripts that were to be made into actual programmes. Some concepts that were cancelled by the channel were Rohit Roy's ''Rang - The Colors of Love'', Sharad Kelkar's ''Siraj-ud-Daulah'', and Sampada Vaze's ''Hum Tum''.
